The Marine Society and the Open University (OU) have worked together for over 43 years to ensure that seafarers are able to take advantage of the learning opportunities on offer.
It's an ideal way for seafarers to continue with their learning as it's the UK's only university dedicated to distance learning.
What's on offer?
There's a degree focusing on leadership, business and management where we pleased to advise that a seafarer's HND in Nautical Science and Marine Engineering has been mapped from transferred credit.
The strands making up the degree have been selected to maximise the amount of transferred credit available to seafarers; to ensure the degree is seafarer-friendly; and to offer a qualification felt to be especially relevant to career development.
There's also a route through to chartered status for marine engineers.
