Please note that orders to Europe and Rest of World may be delayed by customs. Any duties and taxes are payable by the receiver. Clearing the parcel through customs is a responsibility of the customer.
If you are ordering goods for delivery outside of the UK, please note that your consignment may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are levied once the goods reach the country of destination. Any such charges levied in relation to customs clearance must be paid by you. It is accepted by you that Marine Society has no control over additional charges in relation to customs clearance. We recommend that you check with your local customs officials or post office for more information regarding importation taxes/duties that may be applicable to your online order. You will be the importer of record and responsible for any import VAT and duty that needs to be paid. In addition, any charges for import clearance will be paid by you, the customer. If you refuse your parcel and it is returned to us, you will only be refunded for the value of the items ordered.
Effective from 1 March 2023, it is mandatory to provide your VAT / EORI number for all EU countries, Northern Ireland, Norway and Switzerland.
Failure to do so could result in your order being delayed and potential additional charges being imposed by your local customs office.
Impact of Brexit on EU deliveries
From January 2021, EU shipments are subject to import charges and taxes.
Charges applied to products ordered from outside the UK are the responsibility of the buyer. Marine Society is unable to assess or control these costs, which must remain your responsibility to pay.
Brexit has had an impact on delivery times, and there might be delays in EU orders.
Please note that orders to Europe and the Rest of the World may be delayed by customs.
We aim where possible to dispatch books three times a week. Shipping confirmation will be sent upon dispatch. Stock may not be immediately available, but we will keep in touch to let you know the estimated delivery time.
