The Shipmaster’s Bunkering Manual is a unique result of cooperation between BIMCO and IBIA to create insight and practical understanding of bunkering across the shipping sectors. The purpose of this manual is to create a common understanding of best practices when bunkering so as to facilitate smoother bunker deliveries and safe handling around the world.

This document is written for organisations involved in training officers, including cargo engineers, for LPG cargo operations. This document is written at a high level and is suitable for individuals that are technically qualified and experienced in the subject of training and LPG operations.

This publication has been written for personnel who design and deliver training programmes. It covers the requirements for Navigation Aids and Equipment Simulator Training (NAEST) Operational and Management certification, Automatic Radar Plotting Aids (ARPA) training, and Small Ships Navigation and Radar training, set out in Chapter II of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, 1978, as amended, and corresponding sections of the STCW Code.
